It is part of a master planned community called the Hop Brook Development, which includes connections between the apartments, local office buildings and a restaurant and commercial space in the historic Simsbury Grist Mill. Nelson Construction built the community in 2013 as Construction Manager for Mill Commons LLC.
Mill Commons is comprised of 6 residential buildings of 14 units each, all with in-building garages on the first floor. The units are a higher end product of 927 SF – 1,410 SF apartments, including building elevators, garages, and upscale finishes.
The site also includes a 1,200 SF Pond House community center and leasing office and 4 stand-alone residential units to enhance the “Urban Streetscape” of the main road. The community was designed and engineered by Fuss and O’Neill.
